Once upon a time, the prince of a kingdom saved Fork.

Having never known freedom, Fork did not understand why the prince saved him, nor what to do next. When the prince saw Fork's dilemma, he offered Fork to become his knight.

As time passed, the prince taught Fork everything he knew, and Fork remembered each of them well. Everything, except the reason he saved Fork's life.

"Nobility is something better experienced than taught," the prince told Fork. "Like a color."

Before they knew it, Fork had become a great knight, and the prince had become a great king.

One night, the king became ill. The only cure, the Miracle Mushroom, was hidden in a faraway land. Without hesitation, Fork set off to find it.

As nobly as the prince saved him, Fork was going to save the king.

Fork moves through the game in the Overworld.

The terrain will differ between biomes, so choose Fork’s path wisely!

Fork will interact with different things in the Overworld when he walks into them.

There are friendly characters that help Fork out, and there are enemies that stand in Fork’s way.

When Fork walks into an enemy, there’s no choice but to fight!

During Combat, Fork and the enemies take turns playing Cards.

As long as Fork has the resources, he can play them in any order he chooses. Strategize and defeat the enemies that stand in Fork’s way!

Including upgrades, there are currently already 223 Cards to discover!

Many more cards will be added as the game is developed.

Fork's adventure takes him to a faraway, fungal land of many biomes.

The Shifting Woods are a living mushroom forest, with spores floating lazily in the air. The river that runs through the forest never changes, but everything else never quite seems to stay the same.

In the Woods, there are ledges and ramps. Fork can jump off any ledge, but will need a ramp to climb back on. Look before you leap!

Are the mushrooms in the Woods alive? What are the blue spots that cover their surfaces?

Another area that Fork has yet to explore are the Lilying Rapids. The woods clear out into tall, thin chanterelles, and there is a clear view of a towering mountain. What awaits Fork in these wetlands?

Currently, there are 5 areas planned for exploration.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the characters and enemies of the Woods.

Shades always wears sunglasses.

He’s been in the Woods for as long as he can remember, and he’s experienced his share of trouble. That’s why he helps out Fork whenever he can.

Maura is the local gardentender for the Woods on behalf of The Watch.

She is devout in her beliefs, and provides service to those who seek to learn more. Although she has an unsettling demeanor, she has managed to keep her carnivorous desires in check so far.

Kun is a bug.

Rhine is the self-proclaimed last guardian of the Miracle Mushroom.

Upon Fork’s arrival, Rhine has marked him as the greatest threat to the mushroom’s safety. A successor in a long line of Guardians, Rhine proves to be a worthy rival to Fork.

As Fork completes hidden accomplishments, he will obtain honeycomb.

By giving honeycomb, each character’s affinity with Fork will increase. Each character has unique affinity benefits, so use your honeycomb wisely!

As Fork explores more areas, there are many more friendly characters to discover!

Cap is one of the first enemies Fork encounters.

One of many mushrooms that has gained sentience, they seem to be protecting the Woods from adventurers.

Violet is a blue bug with yellow boots.

Although they usually believes defense is the greatest offense, Violet’s patience is not infinite.

Bitt may not be as aerodynamic as it wants, but that isn’t going to stop its relentless attacks.

Wosie seems to be an older version of Cap, but that is only speculation.

Don’t be fooled by its teary eyes: they are used to store toxins drawn through its long roots.

Each area of the game will feature 11 unique enemies + 1 boss.

There will be no re-colors of any enemies.

Each enemy drops unique curios! Let’s take a look at some of them.

Curios are passive items that have an effect as long as they are in Fork’s knapsack.

Each enemy and character has curios unique to them, so choosing who you interact with can change which curios you receive!

While curios vary by the character, consumables change depending on the biome.

Consumables are one-time use items that provide an instantaneous effect.

As Fork progresses to new areas, the consumables will also change! Use them at critical moments to turn the battle in Fork’s favor!

Curios, consumables, and finally, currency. The last of the 3 C’s.

Currency is a type of item that will convert to upgrades at the end of each adventure.

Honeybugs are a currency that will exchange for Bon, which is used by the Shopkeepers.

There are also other currencies to look out for! I wonder what they will do…

The music will feature symphonic instruments and arrangements, each representing an aspect of the colorful world Fork will experience on his adventure.

The soundtrack is still currently under development, and because I am no music expert, I am actively looking for potential musicians and composers to help with the project.

Colors of Nobility is currently being developed by 2 people.

Seam is the creator, artist, writer, and lead designer of the game.

Currently, I am learning how to market and how to music.

Surfing Cactus is the lead programmer. If there are any features that need to be added, Cactus is the one laying out the groundwork.

Cactus is also a legendary bug fixer.

The game is being developed for Windows and Mac.

Showing your support on Kickstarter and Steam really means a lot.

(It will also notify you when a demo version becomes available!)

I will keep everyone updated on Twitter.
